letters to Santa

We wrote our letters to Santa--Ewan dictated out what he wanted written and then signed his name, oh and he also wrote Santa's name too even though you can't see it very well in the picture--
It says, "Dear Santa, I have been a very good boy this year. Can I please have a Wii Resort, a scooter, some decepticons and some constucticons, and a pedaler. Thank you and I love you. Love, Ewan

He just barely added the "pedaler" to his list today which surprised me. I had no idea what he was talking about until the commercial came on for that leapster bike game and he told me that was the pedaler...good grief.

Ewan also told me what to write for Alec's letter--
He also started naming off tons of toys that he insists Alec would like (it's actually that Ewan would really like them) so I just put that Alec wants some fun toys.

Now we just have to take the letters to Santa's mailbox at Macy's (they donate money to charity for every letter they get) and Santa will definitely be set with what we want.

We love Santa!

Well, at least most of us do...it may take Alec a year or two to decide that Santa's really not that bad of a guy. And Ewan really was happy to see Santa, we just had to take the picture really quick because Alec was freaking out and we missed his smile...oh well.

black friday, and our tree

I sent Brian to Home Depot at 5:30 Friday morning to try and get a new Christmas tree for us (since the one we have is barely taller than Ewan.) They had one that was originally $130, but on sale for $40 so I figured it was a good enough deal to have him risk a toe for. Thankfully he still has all his toes, plus a new tree and shop vac for about $70 total...

have I mentioned that I have a secret love for Black Friday? I do. It's more like a love/hate relationship. I love the deals, but hate the inconsiderate people in the world. I spent most of Thursday night trying to talk myself into going to Kohl's at 4 a.m. (oh, Kohl's how I love thee...there is no hate in that relationship.) And once I talked myself into it I immediately started talking myself out of it...I really didn't want to die that day. It doesn't take a lot to talk myself out of going, I just remember the Black Friday we went to in Rexburg our first Thanksgiving and am totally turned off to the idea. I came home with bruised heels and toes from getting hit by carts at that one....those people were brutal.

Anyways, we got a tree, and here it bee...Ewan had so much fun decorating it, it's all he talked about all day.Ewan and his ornament for this year--Alec (and me) with his--Ewan had fun putting ornaments on, and Alec has had fun taking them off.My boys and their tree...They chased each other around it for a good 10 minutes tonight--And it wouldn't be complete without a video--

Thanksgiving...

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. We went out to my brother Kevin's house and had a blast. I didn't take many pictures...I was too busy eating...but here are the few that I did take of the kids doing some crafts--

painting ornaments--my Annie Rose was such a sweetie and helped Ewan with all of his crafts while I took care of a very grumpy Alec.Taylor Bug--
I didn't get any pictures of Troy because apparently he's too old to do crafts now (I'm still in denial that he'll be driving in a couple of months....gah!)

Here's my grumpy little man, he hasn't been feeling good for the past few days...This is pretty much the only thing that made him happy--Thanks for letting us come out guys it was great!

We had some friends over yesterday, and they were drawing with chalk outside when Ewan came and was so excited that he had drawn a picture of daddy. Then he asked me how to spell dad, so I told him d-a-d and he ran back outside. A few minutes later he came and got me to show me this...
That there is a picture of Ewan's daddy (with head slightly askew, Ewan said he accidentally erased it with his pants while he was writing the word, so he redrew it on the side, hehe). And can you see the word above it? Here's a closer look--It says "DADE." He told me that he added the e because his name is daddy not just dad. I don't know about you, but I was pretty impressed.

My big boy

Ewan had his first ever Primary program yesterday...he was so excited about it and asked about every two minutes if it was time to go yet. He was the first kid to get up and speak and he had no fear...he did a great job. We are so proud of him. He such a sweet little guy.

I have a video of him saying his part and singing a bit of one of the songs, but it's not uploading right now, so pictures will just have to do.

Here's a picture that Ewan took of Alec yesterday, not too bad if I do say so myself.Alec tried to freak out when Ewan went up on stage for the program and I thought I was going to have to take him out. But luckily we had a good view of Ewan from where we were sitting and as soon as Alec saw him he just sat on my lap and watched his brother for a good portion of it...he sure does love Ewan.

and this little guy...will be 1 year old.

i really can't believe it.

• for playing on the computer and not watching alec...

• for letting ewan have gum and not paying attention to what he was doing with it...

he now has a little blad spot right there.

• i also let alec have a pack of m&m's from his halloween bucket to walk around with and a while later he came up to me with a chocolate face and wadded up wrapper in his little chocolate covered hands. i later discovered the place he devoured them at when i saw a nice spot of carpet all covered in chocolate and little chocolate hand prints all over the family room walls....i was too frustrated with myself to take a picture of that one.
